Oversized sunglasses do two jobs: they shade more of the face and they finish an outfit on their own. Sorenzia's oversized frames are made to the same specification as the boutique version, with the same thick acetate, the same hinges and the same UV400-rated lenses, finished by hand and priced below retail. The collection includes large squares, big rounds, shield and wraparound styles and oversized cat eyes.
Choosing a size that still fits
Oversized does not mean badly fitting. The frame should sit on the bridge without pinching, and the lenses should clear your cheeks when you smile. A lens width of 58–62 mm is oversized on most faces; above that, the frame needs a wider bridge. Small faces should look for a frame with a narrow bridge and a deep lens rather than a wide one.
Shapes and tints
A large square suits a round or oval face. A big round frame softens a square jaw. Shield styles sit flat to the face and suit a sporty look. Dark grey and brown lenses give the fullest coverage; gradient lenses lighten a very large frame.
